Party Time in Ohio

The weekend of March 20th was a crazy weekend filled with parties, family, friends, and drinking! Haha! Carter's first party was at Scott's parents house on Saturday, March 20th. We had about 30 people at this party. Quick and to the point, here are some pictures from that party.

I made Carter's birthday banner. Just something that we'll be able to use for many years to come.

I also made the monthday collage hanging above the fireplace. It's a neat way for people who don't see Carter often, to see his progress in growth over the last year.

He was so, so tired! I couldn't resist such a cute picture!

Sunday, the 21st, we had a party for family and friends on my side. We had it at my parents house and we had 25 people there. Carter was rather fussy most of the time. Maybe it was the shots he had the Thursday prior or being passed around person to person or the lack of nap time. Who knows! Overall, it was a great party and it was so nice to see all my family and close friends together!!

When I was little like Carter, my parents put me in the grass and I did the same thing that Carter is doing. This is the exact reason I kept shooting pictures...I thought it was great! I wish I had a copy of the picture of me sitting in a cute purple and white gingham dress in the grass crying with my hands held up high. Priceless!

All Carter's loot!

Thanks to everyone who came and helped us celebrate Carter's first wonderful year of life. He's been the best baby EVER and it's all because of our fantastic family and friends. I can't wait for Carter's second year of life. I hope it's as fun and filled with adventure as his first!!

I love you Carter!

Cake Smashing Preview

Yes, for his 1st birthday, Carter is one of those kids that is having 3 parties. Or rather, yes, I'm that mom that is having and putting myself through 3 parties!! So, because of this I thought I'd test out the cake smashing here in MI before he had to do it in front of an audience. It went well tonight. I gave him cake after dinner, and while it took some convincing that getting messy was a good idea, he seemed to have fun with it. Here's a small preview before the "real" pictures are posted later next week. :)

Mini Trip Down Memory Lane (Not Carter Related)

Those of you who really know me, know that I love my photos and memories and going back down memory lane. Scott turned out at 10:30 tonight and because I wasn't tired yet decided to pop in the DVD of our wedding slide show. My aunt and uncle made the slide show, so they also gave us a DVD of the photos they had to scan in......

This made me think back to Miami University's (OH) Ghetto Fest in 2001. I always think of a few bad things and a few good things when I think of Ghetto Fest. I'll just bring up the good things.

#1 I say GF is where the confused photo originated. Since then, there have been many versions and variations of the confused look photo. "Confused" and don't know what I'm speaking of? Let me help you out.

#2 Smelling lilac bushes! I do have a picture of the actual lilac smelling, but sadly I cannot find it. Bt, this is the picture I came across in the slide show that made me think of GF in the first place. And, the lilac bush is behind us. :)

#3 Beer, beer, and more beer!

#4 Does anyone remember how we actually got home from campus? I don't, but I remember what happened once we got home! ;)

#5 Good friends!
