New Toy

When we found out we were going to go to Japan for 3 months, I knew I wanted to have a new camera to take with me. One that could capture great images and maybe help start my photography back up when we got back to the states. I asked around and did some research and decided on the Canon Rebel T1i. It's a digital SLR and had great reviews all around.

Well, we just got it last Wednesday and I LOVE it!! I've already captured some great images, mostly of Carter, but great none the less. I've already shot 3 times the number of images than any given month prior. Ha! Scott also used some of his Marriott rewards points to get a 2nd lens. It's 55-250mm. It's a great lens and a great few pieces of equipment!!

Addicted

I have a few new shows that I've become addicted to watching. Guilty pleasures if you will! I just can't help myself. Anyone else watch any of these shows?

Bethenny was on Housewives of NY, but then just recently got married and had a baby girl, Bryn. This is her spin off reality show from Housewives. The series is over now, but I'm sure they'll play re-runs on Bravo.

I just love it and I love her. She's a stitch!!!

Yes, yes, yes! I joined the band wagon and started watching last season and now am totally addicted. This is another Bravo show and these women are brutal. Sometimes it's embarrasing to watch because these ladies are just too much. Love it!

A TLC show that I love! I love Randy and all the different people with different looks in mind that come into that store.

Yet another Bravo show, but a goodie!! Jeff Lewis is a freak of nature and is so rude to people, but I find it is a must on my list of shows to DVR.

Carter's New Tricks

You have a kiddo. And your kiddo has a bunch of new tricks. But sadly you can never capture them on camera. Well, I finally got it all! I'm one proud mama even though he thinks his eye is his nose. :)

Scott's Birthday Adventure

August 15th was Scott's 31st birthday, so to celebrate we packed up and drove to Ohio to see a Cincinnati Reds game and stay the night in Cincy...wait for it, wait for it.....BABY FREE!!!! On the way down I got some cute car shots of Carter. :)

We dropped Carter off to stay with my Aunt Shu Shu. My parents were supposed to be at the lake, but surprised us by being there during the drop off. SURPRISE!!!

When we check into our hotel, the Marriott on the Ohio river, we were given a fabulous room. We had a balcony on the river side overlooking the city. It was so pretty! (Well, besides the clouds and grey skies. A rain storm had just gone through.)

As anyone who lives in the midwest knows, it has been hotter than hell lately! OMG! And well, this evening was no different, especially just after a rain storm went through. We sweat from head to toe the entire game and m hair frizzed out to New Jersey. Wow! And does one know the exact cost for an ice cold beer at a baseball game these days? A ungodly $8.75 for a little 10oz beer! Are you kidding me? So Scott and I did not drink beer, but had two beers at the hotel bar after the game instead.

Carter and I gave Scott his gifts on his birthday, Sunday. Another year, another birthday, another year older!! Ha, the last year he can say he has a hot wife still in her 20's!!

3rd Annual Girls Weekend

August 5-8 was our 3rd annual girls weekend at Lake Cumberland with one of my best friends Sarah and her family. The rent a house with a lake view for the summer season and it's always a good time. Carter stayed with a neighbor Thursday afternoon and was picked up by Scott when he got home from work and then Carter and Daddy spent the weekend together. It's always so nice to be able to go and have time away, just me!!

I got Sarah and I our usual matching sunglasses this trip. I did a good job and she loved hers, but they sadly didn't make it through the weekend. Hers broke and I lost mine to the Lake Gods. I have since replaced mine and she replaced hers, but hers broke yet again. :(

Sarah and I made a ton of food and snacks including 60 jello shots. 60 jello shots of the perfect combinations of liquor and jello. My personal favorite was the black cherry jello with low calorie cherry vodka. Mmmmmm! Did slurping back some jello cause men to behave badly? I'm just sayin'!!

Overall, it was a fantastic trip.
